What is the best time of the year to catch roosterfish?

Where are we located?

On the Sea of Cortez side of Baja California, about 2.5 hours North and East of Cabo San Lucas, and about an hour South and East of La Paz.

Do you provide gear?

Yes, we have full set-ups for rent.

Do we allow pets?

No

Do we allow smoking in the facility?

No.

Do we provide transport to and from the airport?

We arrange shuttle transport to and from the airport, but at an additional charge.

What type of Boats do we have?

21-23′ open Pangas with 115 HP Suzukis.  Our boats are well maintained, and safe.  We comfortably fish 2 fly fishers at a time.

Do we provide flies?

Yes, but bring the staples, E.P. Pacific Sardinas, white and tan, white and olive, white and grey.  Size 2/0 to 3/0.

E.P. Roosterfish mullet, Blue water gummy minnow, Crease flies, etc.  Bring flies that mimic sardines in general, get with your local fly shop if you have questions.

What equipment should I bring?

10-12 wt saltwater fly rods, reels with plenty of backing, and really good drags.  Floating and intermediate sinking lines are a general rule of thumb, fast sinking lines for March.

What should I tip?

It is gratuities, so what you feel is appropriate, but usually people average  about $100 per day per panga, house staff generally $100-$200 per week.
