Fly Fishing Report for Muertos Bay, Mexico – November 16, 2022

It’s that time of year again! The weather is cooling off and the dorado, skip jack tuna, and roosterfish are grabby. If you’re looking for a great place to fly fish this winter, look no further than Muertos Bay, Mexico. Here’s the latest report:

The water temperature is perfect for fly fishing and the fish are biting. We’ve had days of catching Dorado, Skip Jack, small to medium Roosterfish, Snapper, Grouper, and Pargo. If you’re looking to have some fun int the sun, or get away from the Winter time blues, this is the place to be.

The best flies that are successful are the 2/0-3/0 Jacked up sardines, Blue Water gummy Minnows, simple sardines, sardine brush flies, and crease flies. The best time to fish is early in the morning. The sun can be quite intense during the day, so it’s best to avoid the midday heat. Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and water. And don’t forget your camera – you’re going to want to document your successful day of fishing!

So what are you waiting for? Grab your gear and head on down to Muertos Bay for some of the best fly fishing of the year for Mahi-Mahi. With perfect weather and biting fish, it’s sure to be a trip you won’t soon forget. We still have availability in December, book it today!
